I have served for 8 years and have represented the people of District 23 well. I am chairman of Criminal Justice/Corresction Subcommittee which is a very important job and one that I have done well. I chair the Re-Entry Council which meets once a month to address solutions Oklahoma is facing in the area. Over 60% of the people serving in the Oklahoma Legislator next year will be newly elected or have only 2 years experience, so having someone with 8 years experience is extremely important for the State of Oklahoma
We have already started making a difference in this area and we need to continue to move forward. This issue had been neglected for 20 years so it wont be fixed over night. We need people in the legislature that understand this need.
Economic Developemen
We have to continue to work toward making Oklahoma a business friendly state. We must pass meaningful tort reform. We must give small business incentives.
Education
Make sure money gets to the class room and to the teachers. We must continue to find ways to get the teacher retirement system righted.
Corrections
We must support re-entry programs. We need to send more people to drug & mental health courts where they can be helped to stay out of prison. Our prisons are costing 500 million a year, we can do better but at the same time keep Oklahoma safe
Public Safety
We must do better supporting the Department of Public Safety and the OSBI as well as the OBNDD
