During my banking career, I have learned invaluable lessons and experiences that will contribute to my success and affluence as your Congressman.
#1 I know from "common sense" and banking experiences, you cannot spend more than you take in. It must stop!
#2 I know how to say NO. Many deficit bills are passed with aye votes from representatives who fear losing their job over doing what is right for the people of their district and the country. I will never fear reprecussions from any person or entity for doing the right thing, standing up for you and this country.
#3 I have "common sense" and the business experience to know what it takes to be successful.
#4 As Oklahoma is commodious, this country is over flowing with opportunity for those who want to better themselves. I will strive to make sure that this remains a freedom as part of the enduring rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Deficit spending must stop now. Also, Government waste, earmarks, pork barrel spending and a reduction in the size of the bureaucracy must also be initiated immediately. But in reality decisions need to be based upon what is best for the future of this country rather than what is the most advantageous for re-election. I truly believe that if this one issue can be brought back to a positive position that a majority of the other problems and issues facing our country will cure themselves.
Energy Independence
It is amazing that in the 1940's we could develop a weapon that can destroy the world but since the oil embargo of the 1970's we have not been able to develop a vehicle that gets 100 mpg. It is time the government prioritizes energy independence. We must immediately develop this technology so our country becomes energy independent.
Immigration
As your Congressman, I will make immigration reform a priority. I will author and support legislation to make our borders secure. The federal government has failed the American people on this issue. It is imperative to national security to have secure borders. Let's resolve this problem and put the issue to rest.
Open Disclosure
Tell it like it is. I feel the citizens of this country, as taxpayers have the right to see where their tax dollars are spent. I believe much like a school board or coop board there should be a list available for members (the taxpayers) to view. Barring any National Security issue this list should show;
1. date
2. amount
3. payee
4. purpose
5. authorized by
I will pursue to make this a reality with haste.
education
Lets go back to the 3 basics.
1. Reading
2. Writing
3. Arithmetic
Many times elected officials try to take us a step forward and it ends up taking us two steps back. Let history be our teacher. History proves that students with a strong background in reading, writing and arithmetic succeed.
