Gray is dedicated to minimizing governmental interference with private business, but not at the expense of the environment.
Position: Everything the Corporation Commission does eventually affects all Oklahomans and the Oklahoma economy. We know that fuel prices are going to continue to rise. The commission needs to be pro-active in finding affordable ways to reduce people's utility bills and search for ways to minimize the impact of rising fuel costs on Oklahomans.
Transparency.
Position: The public relies on the Corporation Commission to look out for their best interests. That includes auditing companies the commission regulates and requiring every fee to be itemized on utility bills. Absolutely no hidden fees!
Cut red tape.
Position: Streamline process for Oklahoma companies to do business. Cut red tape without ignoring environmental concerns.
Provide leadership at the Corporation Commission.
Position: The commission has spent over $1.2 million in outside attorney fees because of mismanagement. Several taxpayers' lawsuits are currently pending and hundreds of thousands of taxpayers' dollars have been spent settling lawsuits.
Provide leadership for serving Oklahoma companies.
Position: One of the Corporation Commission's 'clients' are regulated industries. Commissioners should meet regularly with industry leaders to see how the commission can better serve their needs and how the commission can better support economic growth.
