I am lucky to be a lifetime resident of District 9. Growing up here, I feel a special responsibility to the community that gave me so much and made me who I am today. The people of Claremore, Oologah, Verdigris and the surrounding rural areas deserve a representative in the legislature that will respond to their concerns, work tirelessly for them and fight for District 9 in Oklahoma City.
As a product of the Oologah-Talala School District, I understand the importance of our educational system and the people who make it work. We must fully fund our public schools and stand up for our educators. Preserving local control over school districts is vital.
Roads and bridges
The condition of Oklahoma's infrastructure is an embarrassment to our state. Leaders can no longer ignore our crumbling roadways and antiquated bridges. The longer we put off tackling the issue, the more expensive the problems will cost to fix. When elected, I will fight for safer and better roads in District 9 and the state.
Working families
Working families in District 9 deserve a voice at the state capitol. We must improve access to health care, protect worker's rights and stand up for our communities.
Investing in Oklahom
Oklahomans must invest in Oklahoma. That means preserving our historical heritage and promoting tourism. We have to fix roads and bridges and strengthen our university system. We need to encourage investment and stop the brain drain that depletes our state of many of our best and brightest every year. Oklahomans cannot expect families and businesses from outside the state to come here unless we prove we're committed to improving our future.
Good government
Citizens of Oklahoma deserve good government and leadership that they can be proud of.
I believe in open and accountable government. Our people must know what their elected leaders are up to and have access to as much information as possible.
Oklahomans need responsive leadership who will answer the phone, return emails and do their jobs.
Leaders must be responsible. That means meeting the needs of the people while keeping the state's checkbook balanced.
